I am going on the 26th for the Haunt. Is anyone else going? Hope Behind the Screams weekend is on this day.

I'm going the 26th, too! If it is behind the screams that weekend..what difference will it make? Will it be busier?

I'm interested to see what, if any, of the the Graveyard Shift show from the summer of 2002 they use. I'm also really interested to see what they are doing for the Freakshow Deluxe! With the new maze, scarezone, and shows, this looks like it's going to be a really exciting event!

From the looks of it the Graveyard Shift may very well be the exact same thing as Haunted Homecoming, same order of songs, search it up on Youtube.

We are going to set the club off!! The club also has a new facelift this year
SEE YA SAT!
Even this year the Swamp have some fresh new faces as well. We did some practicing the other day last week and we look like that we're ready for this weekend. Also this year some of the creepers will have something new. (I'm not telling what it is.... yet).

I went last night..and MAN! I wish I could go again, I loved it!It was rainin and we didn't get to visit voodoo swamp or alien outpost, and I don't think we did black beards revenge, but it was awesome!! The only downfall is blue ridge blood bath. We waited in the longest line of the night for NOTHING. No scareactors, couldnt see infront of you..nothing. So, looking back I'm wishing we did black beard instead. Feary Tales were awesome to be a scare zone. Defiently my fave scare zone of the night. And Club Blood..it was great! They do not need to change ANYTHING. Defiently the best maze of the night. Maze of madness second. Slaughter house,Medieval and big top are all tied for third because they were all great. but toxic plague..they need to get rid of that one. All in all I had a blast and wish I could go every weekend. Kings Dominion really blew away my expectations!

Despite the rain last night, Haunt kicked off a great opening day. Blueridge Bloodbath and Blackbeard was closed due to weather... everything is going to be up and running tonight, the weather is perfect and I cannot wait.
I must say us at Club Blood were so intensed last night. I love the changes we have done with it. I got too many scares last night and one of my partners made a girl pee on herself,
. I really hope we keep this level of intensity going throughout the whole season. If anyone of you is coming tonight... cant wait to scare the $hit out of you...

Let me get started...
Ok, last year I went to both Halloween Haunt and Howl-O-Scream. I enjoyed both but gave BGE the upper hand.
Let me explain myself by starting with KD, I went on a friday night, about 60 degrees out partly cloudly, waning moon, good night for scares! Waiting in line to enter the park was good, looking over at the Dominator, and the awesome eyes on Eiffel Tower! The small but cool themeing throughout I-Street was pretty cool. As I walked by Maze of Madness, and saw the HUGE line I decided to hitch back around later.
I started my night with Elvira's Supersition, for first timers, it's a grat show but not for repeaters, the crew was proffessional and made the wait only ten minutes. After the show Iwalked through my first scarezone, The Harvest. It had good theming back lacked in scareactors. The fog had its pros and cons, mostly, it was so thick that i couldn't see. It was disorienting. ***
I then walked through Blackbeard's Revenge. It was cool baut lack AGAIN on quality acting. The entrance speaker didn't have the same thrill factor the one the previous season was. Otherwise I enjoyed the theming and got 'lost' in its setting. Best explored toward the end of the night. ***1/2
I skipped Blue Ridge Bloodbath and hit up BloodShed. This maze was amazing! Great acting. The musty smell of the environment was a great touch. It hard to imagine that during the season its an arcade. ****1/2
I took an hour to ride a few rides inluding Shockwave, Drop Tower, Hurler, and the beast of the night, Rebel Yell! After, I took a walk through Club Blood. I liked the maze but though it lacked a few personnal touches. I thought it to clean and needed some goring up. The acting was 'okay' (sorry kdfreak). One thing that got me was bat hanging from the rafts, that was cool. Some of the party effects were cool as well. It just needed 'more.'
***1/2
Toxic Plauge was erie, I am a person who doesn't like anything that is 'slimy' This maze freaked me out. Some of the sound effects and scareactors were good. discusting is in fashion for mazes. ****
I skipped Big Top Terror, don't like clowns. And I wasn't paying a dollar for some 3-D glasses
N/A
I rode a few ries around the Congo and got my fair share of scares out of Voodoo Swamp. Decent themeing
Didn't like Alien Outpost, not at all. Too many reasons to state. **
I ventured my way back to Ole' Virginny and took a spin on Bloodbath, It is a well themed scare but lacks in the acting feild once again. these actors didn't take advantage of the thee scenery. If a 'scene is et up, where r people looking. At the scene, I glad u get this, why don't the actors. it's simple the actors, come from the other direction that the people are looking. easy scare! Anyway, the chainsaws were annoying cause u know they aren't real so... ***
I went and took a last spin on the Big D before taking on the best maze of the night, Maze of Madness! After the big start the line had shortened down and pulsed really quickly, I was in in only five mins. The mirrors throughout the place made it hard to keep oriented. The sounds made it worse. And the actors...The actors made it a total nightmare. The best one was the guy that swung down from the ceiling right in front of me. I jumped back into this girl and knocked her over. Oppes! It was awesome! *****
Over all KD is a good Haunt but not a great haunt. The make it better they need:
1) Better, more commited Actors
2) More new scares (Moving in the right direction this year, hopefully better next.)
3) more shows. (I only saw one show but heard that Halloween Homecoming was 'cliched')
I would give KD a ***3/4 for huant last year.
This year I don't plan to got to Haunt but plan to go next year.
